Community Eco Gardens – Landscaping with Native Plants

May 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CDT

ADULTS (Ages 18+)

Dennis Swiftdeer Paige will join us via ZOOM to share his expertise on using native plants in our landscaping. This is an interactive ZOOM event held at the library and is sponsored by That Perennial Place and the Morris Area Garden Club.

An environmental educator, conservation practitioner and native landscaper, Paige is the winner of several prestigious awards in native landscaping and habitat preservation. He is the author of the book, Community Eco-gardens: Landscaping with Native Plants, published by Mcfarland and Company under Toplight Books, with a foreword by noted native plant expert and entomologist Doug Tallamy. His book, which is part how-to and part personal narrative, provides a practical guide for creating native-species ecogardens and chronicles Dennis’ 20-year journey of transcendental awakening. With the help of the greater community, a neglected five-acre condominium landscape is transformed into a stunning range of multi-seasonal prairie, woodland and wetland micro-habitats.

Registration is required for this event so stop by the library today or give us a call to register.
