About the Director, Resa Mai

Director Resa Mai
Welcome to year two!  I can not believe how quickly the first year has passed.  I am very happy to be here and absolutely adore the Morris community.  We like it so much that this past May our oldest son, his wife and their daughter moved to Illinois from Texas.  Between the warmth of the community and having family close I feel more at home everyday.  A special Thank you to everyone who has stopped by and said hello to me!

As we continue to move forward I am thrilled with the programs we are offering.  Exciting new options like the Polynesian night we hosted, at Goold park,  with hula and fire dancers!  Over 450 people came to enjoy the show and have some Hawaiian Shave Ice.   We are looking forward to our bus trip up to see Kinky Boots in October and Polar Express train ride in December.  So much excitement is coming up for all of us.

I could not do any of this if it were not for our amazing staff and the input and suggestions from the community.  We had two meetings in September where we brainstormed and shared new ideas for the library into the future.  Some of the ideas include a seed library in the spring and additional databases. We are always open to your suggestions, whether it is some ideas for books to buy, programs to run or even flowers to plant in our garden.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated, our goal is to make sure our library reflects our community.  Stop in and share your ideas, or email them to me at rmai@morrislibrary.com.

THANK YOU MORRIS FOR MAKING ME SO WELCOME!!!
