1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Why a 1000 books before kindergarten?

Research demonstrates that young children who are read to on a regular basis have an advantage when learning to read for themselves. Reading together builds closeness and early literacy skills, which are the foundations for school success.

Reading 1000 books isn’t as hard as it might sound

If you read just one book at night, you will have read 365 books in a year. That’s 730 in two years and 1095 in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think.
