Completion of Expansion Project

After more than a year of construction, the expansion project is about to be completed, bringing new and improved spaces designed to better serve the growing needs of our community. The project represents a major investment in library services, programs, and gathering spaces for residents of all ages.

To complete the move into the new areas, the library will be closed on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The library will reopen at noon on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Thank You for Your Support

The library would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the community for its patience, flexibility, and encouragement throughout the construction process. Despite temporary disruptions and changing spaces, library services and programs continued thanks to the support of our patrons and the dedication of library staff.

“This expansion represents an exciting new chapter in the history of our library,” said Lauren Keavney, President of the Morris Area Public Library Board of Trustees. “We look forward to welcoming the community into spaces that will allow us to grow, connect, and serve Morris for generations to come.”

Library staff also played a vital role in the project’s success, continually adapting services and operations throughout construction to ensure residents could continue to access library resources and programs.

We hope you’ll join us on June 11 to see the finished project, reconnect with your library, and celebrate this exciting new beginning together.
