Ready Set Go Picture Show – February 22, 2025

We had an incredible time at our special screening of The Ready Set Go Picture Show with creator Eric Scott Fisher! On Saturday, February 22, 2025, families and animation enthusiasts gathered at the library for an afternoon filled with creativity, nostalgia, and behind-the-scenes magic.

Attendees were treated to a screening of the pilot episode, Don’t Push That Button, which showcased a mix of absurd races, quirky talk show moments, and fascinating short documentary segments highlighting artists, magicians, and more. The fast-paced, offbeat variety show captivated audiences of all ages, celebrating the joy of play and creativity.

Following the screening, Eric Scott Fisher gave an engaging behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating The Ready Set Go Picture Show. Guests were fascinated to learn about the show’s use of classic animation techniques, including hand-drawn cels and vintage 16mm motion picture cameras from the 1940s and 1970s. His insights into traditional animation and storytelling left everyone inspired.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unique experience! Whether you’re a longtime fan of classic animation or discovering it for the first time, we hope the event sparked your imagination and appreciation for the artistry behind the show.
