Listening calmly during a story can be challenging, especially for children who struggle with sensory processing or have difficulty engaging in traditional storytimes. We believe that every child deserves the joy of storytelling, which is why we’ve created Sensory Storytime—a welcoming and supportive environment where all children can thrive.

What is Sensory Sensitive Storytime? Sensory Sensitive Storytime is a thoughtfully designed program that considers the unique needs of each child, focusing on their ability to participate in shared reading:

• Engaging the Whole Child: We create an environment where children can actively participate, even if sitting still isn’t their strong suit. They can use fidgets to keep their hands busy or move around the room as needed.
• Flexible Participation: We understand that some children need to stand up, walk, or wiggle while listening. This storytime is tailored to accommodate those needs, allowing kids to enjoy the stories in a way that feels right for them.
