Be a Santa to a Senior

Spread Holiday Cheer to Grundy Seniors!

We are excited to once again participate in The Community Foundation of Grundy County’s annual Be a Santa to a Senior Program, a wonderful opportunity to brighten the holidays for senior citizens in our community. This program invites the public to nominate seniors in Grundy County, aged 60 and over, who could use some extra cheer this holiday season. Each nominated senior will be matched with a gift from a community member.

At the Morris Area Public Library, we believe in strengthening our community by fostering connections and providing meaningful opportunities to give back. By participating in this program, we are bringing joy to our senior neighbors and creating a sense of belonging during the holiday season.

Key Dates:

  • October 1 – November 7: Submit names and gift ideas for a Grundy senior in need of Christmas cheer.
  • November 14: Senior name cards will be displayed on trees at your Morris Area Public Library, the Three Rivers Library – Minooka branch, Coal City Library and the Mazon BP.
  • November 17 – December 12: Drop off wrapped gifts at your Morris Area Public Library, the Three Rivers Library – Minooka branch, Coal City Library or the Community Foundation of Grundy County.
  • December 15-23: Volunteers will pick up and deliver the gifts to seniors.

We’re proud to participate in this meaningful initiative once again and invite you to join us in spreading joy to the seniors who are such an important part of our community.
